About Us

Education Advocacy & Community Engagement

The Education Advocacy & Community Engagement Initiative is a volunteer-driven program that strengthens community support for inclusive and quality education in underserved Nigerian communities. By engaging parents, guardians, local leaders, and stakeholders, the initiative raises awareness, addresses barriers to school enrollment, and provides children with essential educational resources.

Why

Despite efforts to improve education in underserved Nigerian communities, many children remain out of school due to poverty, cultural barriers, insecurity, and low awareness among parents and local stakeholders. Engaging communities at the grassroots level ensures that children not only enroll in school but also stay enrolled, while strengthening local ownership and creating environments that support learning.

Our Approach

Community Engagement & Sensitisation: We conduct town-hall style conversations, parent and stakeholder meetings, and advocacy visits to promote the value of education.

Distribution of Educational Materials: Provide exercise books, pencils, storybooks, and other learning resources to children.
Needs Assessments & Dialogue: During engagement, we conduct informal surveys and listening sessions to understand local challenges and co-create solutions.
Volunteer-Led Outreach: We train and mobilize trained volunteers to facilitate sessions, support logistics, and strengthen community participation.

Monitoring & Documentation: Capture photos, videos, testimonials, and attendance records; track outcomes and report on impact for future programming.
